Alpine Volks Fair is one those gatherings that many begin to prepare for immediately after the one that preceded. A collection of high-quality European automobiles against the backdrop of Helen, Georgia’s Austrian-inspired architecture is something that is hard to replicate elsewhere in the states. And as always, this year’s roll-ins did not disappoint, even with a few days of rain and overcast.
One Of The Best Euro Car Gatherings On The East Coast
Personal highlights of the trip included both familiar rides and new appearances such as Chris McFarren’s MK4 R32, Fish’s Zender MK2 GTI, and Mike Unland’s immaculate Porsche 356 Coupe. The days leading to the event (now presented by Eurotripper) were filled with laid-back meets at various spots across the town of Helen and in the heart of Unicoi State Park. Saturday showcased some of the best examples of VW, Audi, and Porsches on the east coast, with a number of hand-selected cars from the meets the day prior. You could find just about every euro-centric car group and performance brand represented as a vendor, including the likes of Rotiform, Bag Riders, Unitronic, Black Forest Industries, MK2 MayDay, and many more. Here’s a visual perspective of Thursday thru Sunday featuring my personal favorites from the yearly gathering.
